CTIP-JA-US019 Combating Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) for Judge Advocates and Legal Counsel Course (1 hr)
Judge advocates, General Counsels, and other legal professionals in DoW play a key role in advising commanders and leadership on the threats of human trafficking and the ways to combat it. Human trafficking (and trafficking-related activities) has been linked to waste, fraud, and abuse, blackmail, espionage, "honeypot" schemes, bribery, terrorism, and other criminal activities that weaken the ability of U.S. military forces at home and around the world. This training is heavily focused on the legal authorities - laws, policies, and regulations - that guide DoW's response to human trafficking. There is a companion Toolkit that may be accessed outside of the training for those that want quick access to training resources.
